Perk synergy guide

Fallout 76 Perks Without the Spreadsheet

You do not need to memorize every possible combination to make useful choices. Think in roles: what helps you deal damage, keep going, survive mistakes, move comfortably, and maintain your normal resource loop?

Start with the job of each choice

Find a missing role before adding more damage

When a build feels weak, the missing piece may not be damage. If you cannot stay active, carry what you need, or afford the resource loop, another damage-oriented change can make the full session worse.

Use a simple synergy check

  1. Name your primary weapon and your most common activity.
  2. List the one thing that repeatedly stops you: ammo, AP, survival, repairs, or weight.
  3. Choose one next change that supports both your primary direction and that friction point.

Frequently asked questions

Should every choice increase damage?

No. A useful setup also has room for recovery, resource stability, and quality-of-life needs. Damage only helps when the build remains playable long enough to use it.

How do I know if two choices work together?

They work together when they serve the same main playstyle or when one removes a constraint that prevents the other from being useful.
